We would love to make some of these!

Do you have any spare PVC pipes at home? Have a look at these great composters! They are mini worm farms for our gardens! If you have some old pipes please may we have them? They will look great in our garden!

Enviroschools Great Postcard Project

We had a great time making and writing our postcards. We used recycled card and bits and pieces to collage the covers and make them look colourful! We sent almost 300 postcards to lots of different schools. We couldn't believe how many we got back! They have pride of place in the entrance of our corridor, come and have a look! There is even a few made from ice cream lids!

Marrow and Chocolate Cake

Cream together 150g Butter/ Marg with 100g of soft Brown Sugar. Mix in 1tsp Vanilla Essence and 2 tbsp Cocoa Powder. The mixture should be light and fluffy.

In a separate bowl, weigh out 250g Self-Raising Flour and a tsp of Baking Powder.

Gradually add 2 Large Eggs to the creamed mixture along with a little of the flour to help absorb the liquid.

Then, mix in the rest of the flour, 2 tbsps of Milk and approximately 200g of grated, peeled and de-seeded marrow, courgette or zucchini.

If you're making a loaf cake, cook at 180c for approximately 50mins. Alternatively fairy cakes would take 15-20mins.

It was very moist and very chocolatey!

The recipe declared that it was best eaten fairly swiftly but that it did freeze well. After we'd tried a slice each we decided that eating it 'fairly swiftly' wasn't going to be a problem...

Thank you so much to another of our wonderful Mums for the delicious cupcakes and for passing on your recipe!

So what's this COMMUNITY GARDEN all about?

Our Vision
To create an enduring, lush and fertile organic vegetable garden that is “owned” by the children, staff, parents and wider community.

Our Philosophy
The garden is:
·      Organic - meaning we don’t use man-made chemicals or pesticides. We feed the soil organic  material and use techniques such as crop rotation, companion planting.
·      A source of fresh fruit and vegetables for the school.
·      An important part of the delivery of the Enviroschools programme.
·      A collaborative effort – children, staff, parents and wider community.
·      A place for learning and growing – people and plants.
·      A place to have fun!

Can we get our water sponsored by Think Water?

We have entered a competition to get a wonderful grant from Think Water Pty Ltd. If we win it we will get water in our garden! This is the video we have used for our entry.

Our jouney to get our Bronze Enviro School Award

A little look back at the history books!

Wow, how we have all grown!
